On June 2, 2026, the Fondation Universitaire in Brussels will host the final event of SMART ERA’s fellow project BEATLES.

The event will bring together policymakers, EU institutions, researchers, practitioners, and stakeholders for a morning of insights, dialogue, and forward-thinking discussion, all focused on what comes next for EU agri-food, climate, and digital policies.

On this occasion, the project will present its main results, policy recommendations, and practical tools, while fostering a broader conversation on the role of behavioural approaches in shaping the next Multiannual Financial Framework (2028–2034). It will also offer an opportunity for dialogue and networking among farmer organisations, NGOs, cooperatives, value-chain actors, advisory services, and other EU projects working towards more sustainable food systems.

The conference will open with a presentation and discussion of BEATLES‘ main results, participants will then explore how behavioural approaches can be scaled up through the CAP and other EU instruments in the 2028–2034 period, with a focus on connecting evidence and policy through the practical uptake of behavioural insights across institutions and field actors.

The event will also provide dedicated space for exchange and networking among stakeholders working on sustainable food systems, behavioural change, and policy design.

We believe that building bridges across projects, communities, and institutions is what drives real change. This event is exactly that kind of space.

The tools and policy recommendations coming out of BEATLES could directly shape how behavioural insights are embedded in the next wave of EU rural innovation programmes, including the instruments that projects like SMART ERA rely on.
